Before the microtonal experiments, the polyrhythmic odysseys, and the seventeen albums in a decade, King Gizzard was just a scrappy Melbourne garage outfit finding their footing on the surf-fried fuzz of releases like this one. Willoughby's Beach captures the band in raw, unpolished form, a valuable document for anyone tracing how one of the most relentlessly creative bands of their generation got its start.
Willoughby's Beach is the second EP by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It was originally released on 21 October 2011 and sees the band in their early years of fuzzy garage rock. These records have been sustainably made via injection mold technology and are made from PET plastic (the same plastic as water bottles).
