Keep your records in the groove
Handle with care
Hold a record by its edges and center label. Avoid touching the grooves, and return it to its sleeve after listening.
Store upright
Keep records vertically in their sleeves, supported without tight pressure. Avoid direct sunlight, heat and damp conditions. Do not leave vinyl in a hot car.
Clean gently
Use a brush designed for records to remove loose dust. For deeper cleaning, follow the instructions for a vinyl-safe cleaning product or record-cleaning system. Let the record dry fully before playback or storage.
Look after your turntable
Keep your turntable level and follow its manufacturer’s setup instructions. Use the recommended tracking force and care method for the cartridge and stylus. Replace worn parts as recommended.
Choose the right speed
Use the speed specified for your record—commonly 33⅓ or 45 RPM. Check the label or product information rather than guessing from its size.
These are general tips. Always follow the instructions supplied with your equipment and cleaning products.
