# Magic Sam – The Cobra & Chief Recordings (LP Vinyl)

West Side Chicago blues doesn't get more elemental than Magic Sam, whose work for Cobra and Chief in the late 1950s captured a young guitarist burning with a ferocity that would redefine the genre. Sam Maghett recorded these sides before his tragically early death in 1969, leaving behind a lean, urgent body of work that guitarists from Stevie Ray Vaughan on down have spent decades trying to metabolize.
