# Dave Alvin – Blackjack David (2-LP Vinyl)

Dave Alvin spent years as the electric backbone of the Blasters before going solo, but \*Blackjack David\* revealed a different kind of depth, rooted in folk ballads, murder ballads, and the worn edges of traditional American song. The album's title itself draws from an old British Isles ballad that traveled across centuries and an ocean to find a home in the American vernacular, which is exactly the territory Alvin has always claimed as his own.

The formative 1998 record from Americana icon, Dave Alvin, is back with two bonus tracks. Previously known for his electric guitar chops, Blackjack David taps into Alvin’s acoustic guitar playing, soaring voice, and emotive songwriting that taps deep into the human experience. This 2-LP reissue features two bonus tracks and new liner notes by Peter Blackstock. Experience the album No Depression says is “a perfect album…an essential part of American music’s rich history,” like never before. \[\*=Previously unreleased\]
